I'm tired thinking back on all we did... Moving on.
Lucy being cute after church on June 1.
Jump back to Summer 2013 with me for a minute. We were blessed by 2 of the most incredible new friends who came over to our country for 6 weeks to get to know women and tell them about the love of Jesus. Seriously. These two gals had such an impact on us and on the friends they made!
Tina!
Anna!
June 2.
Brad and I were so excited to get Lucy into Vacation Bible School! We both signed up to work. Will was registered in a class. Lucy was ready to go. That morning came and Lucy was cold and not acting like herself. Brad was out doing his job - photography - and I was down in the snack room "working" but mostly just socializing :)
I got to go upstairs for the opening morning session. The songs were always my favorite part. And our church did an amazing job with it!
And then around 10:30, Lucy's teacher came and got me, saying that Lucy was cold and crying. So, I go see my usually sunshiny, happy-to-be-around-other-kids daughter. She is covered in a blanket, shivering, and sobbing. Serious sobs. Totally unlike her. Turned out, she had a 101 or so fever. She was spent! So... Lucy got an hour and a half of VBS. The next day, I stayed home with Lucy. Brad and Will went to VBS. But our little Will, well, he's not social like Lucy and completely unused to being around so many others... So on Tuesday afternoon, we loaded up and headed to TN to see Brad's family.
Brad's brother and sister-in-law have the most amazing back yard!
Will and Pops bonding
Will is about 2 months older than his cousin, Clayton.
So, of course, he got to be the driver :)
Nana was in grandmother heaven!
Jumping with Aunt Sarah
Will's great-granddaddy, Willie C
And Grannie behind
Brad and I left both of the kids with Nana and Pops and the gang and we headed back to AL. (We had to go back to work VBS!) And I had a lot of wedding planning stuff with middle sister, Meredith.
We had a hair appointment.
Oh my goodness, he's cute.
We picked the kids up just in time for some of our best pals to get into town for the weekend. We met Mr. & Mrs. Roberts in 2005, before we all moved across the world for the first time. We didn't have kids. We were young and naive. But we clicked. We visited them in South Asia. They visited us in East Africa. Our friendship was cemented by that point. We traveled to TX to visit them when Lucy was in my belly and when their oldest was just a tiny little bit. Now we each have 2 kiddos a piece! God is so good.
Eating Mexican with some of the best. Seriously, some of the best.
Lucy and Hazel not only favor one another, I'm certain that if they lived closer, they'd be BFF!
During that second week of June....
We also spent an amazing day at Mom & Bill's lake house with Mr. & Mrs. R and their girls.
I actually wore SHORTS and SLEEVELESS in public! (And the world didn't end!)
We went to National Donut Day and Will got his first donut. Yum.
.....I wish I had one right this very minute....
And Meredith and I did more wedding prep... White dress for the rehearsal. (She's so stinking cute.)
And this is the beautiful city I grew up in.
