Children's Museum

Today we went with some of our friends to the Children's Museum in our city. I'd heard about this place before, but Lucy wasn't quite old enough when we lived here last year. Now, she's a big 2 1/2 year old and she had a great time! So did her Daddy! And, who am I kidding, I had fun too!

First, we found a play area for kids under 5 that was just full of the usual kids play things. We thought that Lucy and her friend Ellie were going to stay in this area the whole time! They loved playing in the little house (in back R corner of picture)! And Lucy loves wearing "silly hats" (thanks, Barney!)!
A bit later, Lucy found this doll's crib and she decided she wanted to try it out. Gosh, her legs really look long when they're crammed into a doll's crib!
Stacking and building... with hard hat close by, just in case!
And here's Daddy and Lucy working on their spacial reasoning. Brad and this local man were trying to put this puzzle together. I'm not sure if they ever figured it out!
We think these pieces were supposed to fit together to make a solid square, but we could only ever get this long rectangle out of it. Brad's making it into a truck in this shot. Lucy says "truck" every time she sees a truck! Very cute.
This is a big parabolic mic. There was another one about 15 feet away and you whispered into the small white circle and you could hear it in the other one! It was very cool how it worked. Lucy loved it! She and Brad had quite the conversation in them. And when we'd tell her to say "Bye, Bye" so that another child could have a turn, she'd wave into the dish, too. Precious.
See, I told you that he had fun!
There were a lot of cool things at the museum to explore. We'll certainly be going back. It's an indoor, AC'd play area that's educational! What's not to like? And all for $1.56!

By the time we left, there were bunches of kiddos there running everywhere. We certainly learned that earlier is better. And bonus, Brad had a nice convo with a man, and I had a nice convo with one of the ladies who works there. And Lucy, well, she got to run around and play! So it was a win all around for the family today!
