Busy Sundays

Last weekend, we had a very busy Sunday. It included a special breakfast for us hosted by a church where we were speaking that morning, speaking in their morning service, then high-tailing it back home for an hour before I headed up to our home church to sing in the Christmas programs - 2 pm and 6 pm. I felt great for about 3/4 of the time up there singing on stage...but then by the last few songs of the 6 pm program, I was stiff and feeling every bit of this 8 months + of pregnancy! Needless to say, I paid for that busy Sunday on what I'll now call the miserable Monday that followed! I was stiff, sore, unable to walk properly. Sheesh.

But all is well. It was a great Sunday and I'm so glad I was able to sing with my church's choir and orchestra!

Move on to yesterday: Another equally busy Sunday. We didn't have to be at the church we spoke at until 10:15 yesterday, yay, so it was nice to sleep in. Also, we let Lucy spend the night with Bibi and go to church with her, so that made for an easier Sunday morning for us. After the service, we grabbed a fast bite to eat from Wendy's and headed home. I got picked up for my baby shower at 1:30 and then spent an amazing 2+ hours with some of my bestest friends in the world. It was the most relaxed and fun baby shower! (More on that in a minute.) After we got home, we headed up to our home church for the first ever Jingle Jam. It included cookies and hot chocolate before the service and then a Family Worship time with carols and the Christmas story. Lucy was wild - as were most all the kiddos after having all those cookies and sugar - but it was a great time with our home church worshipping as families.

All in all, another great day! And this Monday isn't miserable! I'm walking normally and feeling good! Yay! I'm up to my eyeballs in my final projects and readings for my graduate class (all due on Friday), but it's a wonderfully rainy day and a great day to stay in and be on the computer all day!

Brad and Lucy are about to head out for their weekly Monday Library trip. Nothing is on the calendar for today. Let's kick this grad class in the tail!

Here's some pictures from the Baby Shower and from Jingle Jam.

All these sweet friends of mine!
I didn't get individual shots with everyone before we separated. Boo.
 Precious Maegan!
 Beautiful Suzanne!
My curly-headed sweet friends, Kelly and Beth.
My oldest and dearest friend, Meredith and her son Easton.
Last baby shower I had (for Lucy), I was about 4 months ahead of her (her oldest Rhys is 4 months younger than Lucy) and now her 2nd son will be about 4 months older than our 2nd baby! Fun times!
My sweet Wendi and Taryn. Loves!
Needless to say, I am BLESSED.

Jingle Jam! They called down all the "bigger" kids, but Lucy and her pal Chloe Belle (Maegan's daughter who is about a year younger than Lucy) wanted to go down as well. Lucy is on the far R of the picture in a purple dress.
She sat there pretty calmly almost the whole time! Brad went down with her.

Back up in the balcony. She was wild, but she loved watching everything from this position. A few times, she yelled out.

Fun Sundays. Busy Christmas season. But such a blessing to stop and worship as families and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus Christ!

  1. YAY! So glad you had a baby shower, that is too sweet. Also, just saw your cookie post and would love your candy cane cookie recipe, please! And, "A-Woohoo," made me laugh :)
