Friday morning came and Lucy allowed us to sleep in (intermittently) until about 9 am. I got up and made yummy breakfast and then we did what we always do on Fridays - - - nothing. It's a nice day of rest, but since I'd already had a full day - alone - in the house on Thursday, I was itching to get out. Thankfully, I had a visit last night, so I was about to get out and then we had dinner with some of our BFFs here, Mr & Mrs G - yum.
But I knew that on Saturday, I just HAD to get out of the house. All day. Doing something fun.
So, we headed an hour away to a nice hotel and spent the day in the pool! It was wonderful! We were the only people there and we played and had a great time! We usually go to a different hotel in this city, but we decided to try this new one and we were not disappointed! Since the temperature was well over 100 by 10am, we tried this one because it has shades over the pool! That's not such a big deal in the US, but here, the water heats up fast and it can feel more like bath water. Plus, spending ALL day in a pool that doesn't have any shade around or over it is very draining!

Trying to get Lucy to jump!
I have some of the most amazing memories of 2 of my sisters, Mere & Les, LEAPING off the side of the pool to my step-dad, Bill. Wow! They would jump so far!
Lucy's were more like a small step off the side.
See? A small step.
But this was the first time for us to try to get her to jump without her floaties, so hopefully she'll get it!
Self-timer!
Our yummy lunch! Lucy got chicken nuggets. I had a club sandwich and Brad had a hamburger. Yum.
Lucy makes anything she can get her hands on into a little family. She's got them all lined up here.
It was so beautiful! And we had the whole place to ourselves!
And usually, we are charged when we go use the pool for the day, but by the grace of God, we weren't charged today! Yay! So that makes it even better!
My usual shot.
She kept calling us "horsey" and wanting to ride on our backs!
Brad's amazing shot of Lucy actually smiling!
Hey, I got one, too!
It was starting to get a little cloudy by around 3, so we packed it up and started back. Lucy was zonked!
She slept through the amazing rainstorm that we drove through.
(We hardly ever get rain here, so this was something special for us!)
Needless to say, I'm over my cabin fever - although, Lucy & I wish we could just LIVE at the pool. Now, for another week of school - thankfully, only a 4 day week! Then only 3 weeks after that! WOOHOO!

I love the pics! And I love that you get to "escape" every now and then too! I know how important that is.
