First AC Day

It's done. The AC in the living room is on right now for the first time in a long time!

Our handy dandy thermometer that my dad sent us (Thanks, Daddy!) says that it's 80 in here and 83 outside.

Truth be told, I'm still not really HOT, just a bit warm after cleaning up the kitchen tonight. (It was very much in need of a deep cleaning!)

Last year, before we went to America for 10 days right at this time, I was out walking Lucy every day in her stroller. And I remember that when we got back, on March 6, just 12 days after we'd left, after one attempt to do our usual walk outside, we were soaked and it was TOO HOT to be outside anymore. Yes, folks, the Hot season is upon us.

We actually sleep with our ACs on at night every night. We like the noise that ACs here provide -ours are window units in every room - and we like sleeping in the COLD! We like blankets piled up and having cold air to breathe while we sleep! Maybe it's because of all those sweltering, no electricity, 2000% humidity nights in Tanzania, sleeping under a wet sheet to try to cool down... Ah..., those were the days. :)

Anywho. When was the last time you thanked the Lord for the man who invented ACs and Fans? Since Tanzania, it's a constant murmur of thanksgiving I have. It's the little things, really.

  1. Oh girl I hear ya. We used to set goals for ourselves on how long we could go before turning on the AC!
