Good News!

I just got my results back from my oral exam that I did back at the end of last term... I got the score I wanted to get! YAY!

To explain in the most simplified way possible...
We have this scale that has 10 levels. We have to reach level 7 by the END of our time in language school. I scored in level 4! YAY! (Brad scored in level 5! YAY!)

The best news is that this is where I thought I'd be. Apparently, I'm a pretty good judge of my abilities, as evidenced by this exam!

Backtrack....
At the end of every term, we have a written exam in formal Arabic and then an interview with 2 different teachers in colloquial Arabic that is recorded. The 2 Arab teachers give us a score based on the school's criteria. The director of the school listens to the tape and gives us a different score (school's criteria) if he doesn't agree with what the teachers wrote.
And THEN, we give the tape to our language coach, who then listens to it with an Arab who is completely impartial and has nothing to do with the school and the 2 of them give us a score - the score that really matters (!!!) based on different criteria. Then the scores are looked over by 1 other, Arabic-speaking impartial person and that is the score I'm so happy about right now. :)

I'm so thankful for this result and affirmation of my language skills up to this point. I give all the credit to Jesus! For when I am weak, then I am strong - IN HIM!

I do ask you to continue praying for me and Brad as we continue in our language learning. It's hard. (Remember, I have a BS in Theatre because I didn't want to take a foreign language...) For one reason or another, I won't be able to meet with the 2 ladies I've been meeting with outside class to help me. (One is super sick and preggo, the other just started school of her own.) I need more local friends! :) Pray with me!
