I love game nights. Some of my absolute favorite memories are from playing games with folks I love! We had one tonight with a very pregnant and ready to pop friend here and her husband. What a blast!
Then I started thinking about all the amazingly fun game nights we've had...
-Brad and I on our honeymoon to FL. It was March and way too cold to be outside much, so we played Uno Stacko A LOT! What a fun memory!
-We always had fun with Meredith & Willis playing Sequence! And the girls ALWAYS won! :)
-My Dad and my sister, Emily, came to visit us while we were in Tanzania. My fondest memory of the trip was one night in Zanzibar, in the hotel room, all 4 of us on 1 big bed playing chicken foot!
-Playing Chicken Foot with other amazing pals in the same hotel in Zanzibar!
-When we got back from TZ, we were immediately swept back into our group of friends - which had exploded to over 20 people! That first BIG game night, we had 22, maybe 23, people there! Wow! That was fun! Taboo, Guesstures, and that really fun one where you hold the thing and give clues and then you pass it and it eventually buzzes and whoever is holding it loses. (What in the world is the name of that game???)
And the game nights with this group - even from before we went to TZ, but especially after TZ, Sheesh! Those are the greatest times in my recent memory! How I miss those ladies and their godly husbands and all of us having GOOD, clean fun!
-Christmas 2007. We played a lot of Chicken Foot and In a Pickle with Daddy & Emily again and also with my other sisters, Meredith & Lesley and my cousins. Fun times.
And what list of games nights would be complete without the amazing game nights from our Nearly/Newlywed Sunday School class? WOW! Those were over the top fun! Even when I was great, big, ole pregnant!
I'm not sure anything will ever top our big game night at Brian & Ashley's house where Alex did his famous Charades acting out of Pretty Woman...oh, goodness. I'm giggling just thinking about it! We always split up, GIRLS/boys, and usually played Charades - using Movie titles. Seriously, you should try it! And then when we dwindled down a bit, we'd play 4 on the Sofa! (Which we've actually played on this side of the ocean, too, with people from all over the world and it's a huge hit!)
Game Night = Fun night!
This is my amazing friend tonight! She's about to have a precious baby girl named Grace! This might be her LAST picture before they become a 3some!
What games do you like to play?

I miss game nights with you!!!! And I miss you! And I can't believe how big Lucy is! Love you!
ReplyDeleteWe taught some friends Oh, Heck! the other night, and talked about y'all. We said that Brad always had the perfectly definitive, "Oh, heck!" I have very fond memories of playing that with y'all at the Richmond airport! :)
ReplyDeleteMy fave game is Pinochle, but only when we aren't interrupted by kids!
I CANNOT BELIEVE I didn't include our game nights, Emily! Wow! We have a Pinochle deck, but man, we can't remember at all how to play it! Miss you.
