We went to a new park the other night with some friends. It's called the "Cafe Park" because there's a cave there. Makes sense, huh? Let me explain.
"Cave" in Arabic is basically pronounced "caf". They don't have a "V" in Arabic, so most English words that there's not an Arabic word for, they just use the English word, but put an "F" sound where the "V" would be.
Was that confusing?
Another example: "Television" in Arabic is pronounced "Telefizion"
Back to the blog post - sorry for the Arabic lesson.
It's a very small cave, but it's neat. Unfortunately, graffiti and basically trashing places seems to be a global problem. Oh well. It was still neat to explore and we even got to pull out all of our fleece jackets! Yepper, it was that COLD! (Probably in the 50s that night. We're lightweights!)
She, of course, played in the rocks. It was a very fun night, complete with a "kishta" (picnic).
