Jordan Rocks, part 6

I think the best part of our vacation so far has been just hanging out with some of our best friends. As I mentioned before, the weather in their town is amazing and the breezes out on the porch absolutely MAKE this house! So, here's some cute shots of all the cute blonde kids that are running around together these 2 weeks:

This dress is from my sweet friend Meredith. She bought it for Lucy back when she was first born. It's still a little big, but so so cute! I couldn't get Lucy to wear the headband, though.
Lucy and Lailie "cooking" with dry rice.
Lucy and Sadie enjoying a nice bath time
All the girls had a fun wrestle and then song time on our bed.
Lucy copied every move Lailie made. We sang "Shaun the Sheep" and danced.
I got it on video. Maybe one day I'll get that posted...
View of Wendi & Nathan's town/village at night
There's a bit of a water issue here in their town. Thankfully, one of their neighbor's is out of town, so we have been scooping out his water and pouring it into their tank. Here's the boys hard at work.
You can find cowboy hats all around the world!
Blondes in the backseat! Joshua, Lucy, Evie, and Lailie

Yesterday, we went to Moses' springs. This is (supposedly) where Moses struck the rock and God made water come from it. We were expecting to actually see the rock and see the water flowing from it. As you can tell from the picture, they've blocked it. So, there's a big rock...and then there's water flowing... We were underwhelmed.
Last night, we headed up to this park that's on the ridge of the mountain, overlooking the valley where Petra is. It's easy to believe that Petra wasn't discovered until the more recent past... It's down there, in those mountains. You can't even tell it's there!
 My sweet friend, Wendi
Lucy swang... (is that a word?)
 And slid...
And I was in total awe of God's majesty!
And we had to form up for pictures!

 Cutie pie kiddos!

There was a super tall slide. Brad took Lucy up it first and I was sure she'd be too scared to actually go down. But, she did it! And she did it over and over again!
 Another attempt at a panorama.
 They're friends :)
Please be amazed at the sky behind these beautiful children! (And the children, too)

And this is a typical scene here...

Whew. I'm caught up! Tomorrow we are going to the Dead Sea! Yay! Besides this amazing family, the Dead Sea is the thing I've been looking most forward to! Blessings to you all and happy Tuesday!

  1. Wow. Gorgeous pictures Alison! The sunset and trees behind the kids in the fourth from the last picture looks like a painting. I am betting that Moses's springs have a church on them, right? The building looks very similar to a lot of the Biblical places in Israel.

  2. No, Ashley. No churches in Jordan. Lots of mosques, though...
