Wadi Trips are my favorite!

Today we went to a wadi - which means valley. Wadis come in two ways...wet, meaning small pools and streams of water, or very, very dry. And they all usually flood when it rains, which isn't very often.

Anyway. We love adventures and being outdoors, so a trip to a wadi is very exciting for us! Lucy loves to sit in the pools of water and play with the rocks and Brad and I love to explore and just be outside! We went with some of the other students who are in class with us. It was such a fun time! And this wadi had some bigger pools of water than any of the other ones we've been to! It was beautiful! And we were the only people there - so we got to really just relax and be American! It was a wonderfully refreshing end to the weekend!

 This red bucket proved to be quite the source of entertainment. Filling it with rocks, dumping them out, filling it back up again... Fun times!

 She likes these shallow pools better than a regular pool!

We did a lot of "passing the cute baby girl" from person to person as we meandered through the nooks and crannies. It was so fun! The pool Brad and Lucy are in (above) is the deepest one we were in...up to mid-chest.

The water was wonderful! A little chilly in places, but a seriously wonderful treat in the middle of the desert heat! Lucy actually got cold! But a little time in the sun and she was good as new!

 This pool was perfectly still and about a foot deep in its deepest spot. It was a perfect play area!

This is the view of the wadi from the mountain top that you drive over to get to it. Wadis are usually easy to spot, as you can see by all the palm trees amidst the barren mountains. Beautiful!
