Big Fat Greek Vacation - Part 1

So...the thing is...after you take a once in a lifetime trip, it's hard to organize your thoughts, much less your pictures, to put them out there for a blog. How to sum it all up...We took a 13 day trip to Greece where we met up with my sister, Meredith, climbed mountains, bathed in the Grecian sun, and slept all in one room. Oh, that's good. Yes. *Can I end it there? "NO!" say the parents/grandparents. So, here we go.*

We had 2 planes and then a 2 hr bus ride to our resort, Holidays in Evia on Evia Island in Greece. It was a long day of travel, but it all paid off when MGW caught my eye across the dining room and ran to hug my neck! (squeezing me so hard that she crushed her sunglasses that were dangling from her shirt)

The first part of the trip is a bit blurry... We had meetings to go to (an international leadership conference for families), crazy mealtimes with millions of kiddos running around, and trying to learn to sleep all in one room. But man, we sure had a good time!
She told us that she'd been working out her arms in preparation for holding IronMan all week. (He's pushing 24 lbs right now...)

The centerpiece of the hotel - the AMAZING pool!
Lucy's class at the beach one afternoon. The Aegean Sea was beautiful and a bit chilly in the mornings!
We found Aunt Meredith at the beach! This is Will's first (and only) time in the Aegean Sea!

The workers at the conference volunteered to keep all the kiddos one night so that we could have an adult dinner night out of the resort. We went to the most amazing place. I can't call it a restaurant because it was a man's house. He and his family serve people like a restaurant out of their home. There's no menu. He makes a meal and you eat it. And let me tell you, it might just have been the best meal we had the whole trip! *A big THANK YOU to MGW for introducing me to feta. Ahh, feta. I can say that I ate a greek salad and an extra plate of feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, and bread as often as possible! And have continued to have that for lunch daily since we got home!* The night was capped off with traditional Greek dancing! And we all got to join in! "oh-pah's" and all!

Not sure what prompted Mere's poses...

Some of our BFFs were at the conference, too! Looking snazzy on Adult Night!
 Our view... Ahhh... Greece!

  1. Wait...you've lived in the Middle East for 5ish years and you've never had feta?!?!

Also, Greece. I have no words to top that.
