Thanksgiving Practice!

This is a follow-up post to my last post, The Most Amazing Dessert I've Ever Made

Pictures!
Here is it before I rolled it up...
 And after! YUM!
Says to sprinkle it with powdered sugar before serving...but it doesn't need it, to me!
I also made a test run of the most amazing sweet potato casserole imaginable...
 Seriously. YUM.
Sweet Potato Casserole, from my friend Lori

3c. Mashed sweet potatoes (cook them in boiling water, whole, then peal
and mash)
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. melted butter
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients. Mix well. Pour into greased casserole dish.

Topping
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. melted butter
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Compine all topping ingredients and mix well. Sprinkle on top before baking. Bake at 350 for 25-35 min or until golden brown.

*You can double the topping.

*One thing I like to do is include about 2 cups (or however much you like) of mini marshmallows with the topping mixture (can do with or without nuts). If you do this, wait until about half way through the cooking time to put the topping on or else the marshmallows will cook too long and will be hard.

  1. That's the exact sweet potato casserole we've been making since our first Thanksgiving in India! It's ah-mazing, isn't it?!
