When I had a sprained ankle.
When I had a rash/fungus on one toe and one finger.
When we had termites - AGAIN.
When we babysat a German couple's daughter and she screamed for 1 ½ hours of the 2 hours we kept her.
When I had a fever blister.
When I woke up with a migraine that made me sick to my stomach.
----------------
When I was happy - no Satisfied - despite all this.
When I was thankful to God for the husband that let me sleep longer to get over the migraine.
When I had a Pilates workout DVD to do that didn't hurt/effect my ankle.
When the Lord gave me patience during that whole 1 ½ hours she screamed "Mama Papa" and snotted like crazy.
When I didn't throw up because of said snot. (I hate snot. I mean, HATE it.)
When our German friends emailed and said their daughter told them she had a great time and wants to come back again.
When one of my best friends texted me all night and she always makes me smile. (Love you, B!)
When God gave me the foresight to pick up a roasted chicken and hummus from the grocery store earlier in the day so that I didn't have to cook dinner in the midst of *all this.*
----------------
When Psalm 27 was my Bible reading:
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers assail me
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
it is they who stumble and fall.
Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.
One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.
For he will hide me in his shelter
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will lift me high upon a rock.
And now my head shall be lifted up
above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.
Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
be gracious to me and answer me!
You have said, “Seek my face.”
My heart says to you,
“Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
Hide not your face from me.
Turn not your servant away in anger,
O you who have been my help.
Cast me not off; forsake me not,
O God of my salvation!
For my father and my mother have forsaken me,
but the Lord will take me in.
Teach me your way, O Lord,
and lead me on a level path
because of my enemies.
Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;
for false witnesses have risen against me,
and they breathe out violence.
I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living!
Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!
And from Psalm 28:7:
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him.
----------------in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him.
When I refused to let Satan get me down.
When I continued to praise my Lord for this day and everyday, knowing that when I am weak, HE is strong.
----------------
Thank you, Jesus, for today.
